Souichi Negishi is the shy, soft-spoken protagonist of Detroit Metal City. By day, he is an awkward young man who loves gentle pop music and dreams of a peaceful life, but by night he performs as the outrageous death metal frontman Johannes Krauser II. His double life drives much of the series’ comedy, as he struggles to hide his true personality while being forced into the wild image that made him famous. He serves as the central character and main source of the story’s humor.
