Overview
Carl Fredricksen is the elderly widowed protagonist of Pixar’s Up. He is a grumpy but deeply caring former balloon salesman who embarks on a life-changing adventure by flying his house to South America with thousands of balloons. Along the way, he learns to cope with loss, rediscover purpose, and open his heart to friendship. Carl serves as the emotional center of the film, driving the story through his personal growth and relationship with Russell.
