Kira Yamato is the main protagonist of the anime series Mobile Suit Gundam SEED. He is a Coordinator, a genetically enhanced human, who becomes the pilot of the powerful mobile suit, the Strike Gundam. Kira is initially reluctant to fight in the war between the Naturals and Coordinators, but he is eventually drawn into the conflict to protect his friends and loved ones.
