Kaiju No. 8 is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Naoya Matsumoto. The story follows Kafka Hibino, a member of a clean-up crew tasked with disposing of the remains of kaiju, giant monsters that regularly attack cities. After a mysterious incident, Kafka gains the ability to transform into a kaiju himself, setting him on an unexpected path towards becoming a member of the Japan Defense Force to fight against the very creatures he once cleaned up.
