Overview

A short fan-made opening animation created by the future Gainax team for the 1981 Daicon III Science Fiction Convention in Osaka. It became famous for its energetic animation, pop-culture references, and as an early showcase of the talent that would later shape Gainax and modern anime. Although often referred to simply as Daicon III, the full original title is commonly given as the opening animation for the convention.
