Ultra Q is a Japanese tokusatsu television series produced by Tsuburaya Productions and first aired in 1966. It was created as a monster-of-the-week anthology with science-fiction and horror elements, following unusual incidents, giant creatures, and mysterious phenomena investigated by a small group of reporters and scientists. The series is widely regarded as the starting point of the Ultra franchise and helped establish many of the themes and visual style that later entries would build on.
