Overview
Daicon Film is an amateur film production group best known for their opening animations for the 1981 (Daicon III) and 1983 (Daicon IV) Nihon SF Taikai conventions. These short films became iconic for their energetic animation and references to science fiction and pop culture. The Daicon IV Opening Animation, in particular, is celebrated for its quality and influence on future anime creators, including the founding members of Gainax.
