Description

This HQS+ 1/40 statue presents Grendizer at an imposing 820 mm height with exceptional sculptural fidelity and painterly finishes. The robot’s iconic helmet horns and crest are sharply modeled with metallic sheen, contrasted by deep matte panels and sculpted mechanical joints that emphasize scale and weight. The chest and shoulder armor feature layered plating, precise panel lines and subtle weathering effects, while bright chest accents and energy details are rendered in glossy paints to catch light. The base recreates a battered battlefield with debris and metallic fragments, and a separate sculpted figure of Duke Fleed (in pilot attire) stands or is integrated at the base, his flowing cloak and expressive pose adding narrative tension and a human scale to the giant form.

Duke Fleed, known in the original series as the displaced prince from the planet Fleed, is the tragic and determined pilot of Grendizer who takes refuge on Earth after his homeworld is destroyed by the invading Vega forces. Under an assumed identity he lives among humans and ultimately becomes Earth’s reluctant protector, piloting the massive Grendizer to repel repeated attacks. His character blends stoic reserve with deep compassion: he bears the weight of loss and exile yet repeatedly risks everything to save innocent lives. Throughout the story Duke Fleed forges bonds with Earth’s defenders, struggles with loneliness and the memory of his fallen people, and embodies themes of duty, sacrifice, and hope as he fights to prevent other worlds from suffering his fate.
