Winslow Leach is a talented but naive composer who becomes the tragic protagonist in the film 'Phantom of the Paradise'. Initially, he is an ambitious musician seeking to have his music performed. However, after being betrayed by the unscrupulous music producer Swan, his life takes a dark turn. Winslow is disfigured in a freak accident and is wrongfully imprisoned. Upon escaping, he dons a mask to conceal his injuries and becomes the 'Phantom'. As the Phantom, he seeks revenge against Swan while trying to protect Phoenix, a singer he believes embodies the soul of his music.
