Peter Pettigrew, also known as Scabbers, is a character from the Harry Potter series. Initially introduced as Ron Weasley's pet rat, Scabbers is later revealed to be an Animagus, a wizard who can transform into an animal. Pettigrew was a former friend of James Potter, Sirius Black, and Remus Lupin, but betrayed them to serve Lord Voldemort. His transformation into a rat allowed him to hide for years. He plays a crucial role in the resurrection of Voldemort and is known for his cowardly and treacherous nature throughout the series.
