Kankurou is a shinobi from Sunagakure in Naruto and the elder brother of Temari and Gaara. He is a puppet master who fights using elaborate puppets, most notably Karasu, Kuroari, and Sanshōuo, and later serves as a capable support fighter and strategist. Initially portrayed as proud and somewhat abrasive, he matures over the series into a reliable ally and protector of his village. Kankurou plays an important role in the Kazekage’s entourage and in battles during the Fourth Shinobi World War.
