Overview
Edward Blake, known as The Comedian, is a brutal and cynical vigilante from Watchmen. He is one of the original costumed heroes and later works as a government-backed operative, embodying the story’s dark critique of violence, patriotism, and moral decay. Blake’s actions and death trigger much of the central mystery, and through flashbacks he is revealed as a deeply flawed, terrifyingly pragmatic man whose worldview shapes the novel’s bleak atmosphere.
