Overview
Cheval is a major character in Monster Hunter Stories. He is a young Rider from Hakum Village who begins as the protagonist’s close friend and rival. After a tragic event involving the Black Blight and the destruction of his village, he becomes consumed by grief and anger, driving much of his early story conflict. Cheval’s role is central to the game’s emotional arc, as he represents loss, revenge, and the struggle to overcome despair before eventually finding a path toward healing and responsibility.
