Overview
Pennywise the Dancing Clown is the terrifying shapeshifting entity at the center of Stephen King's It. It appears most often as a sinister clown to lure children, but it can take many forms to exploit a victim's deepest fears. Pennywise serves as the main antagonist and embodiment of the town of Derry's recurring evil, feeding on terror and preying on the Losers Club across generations. Its role drives the story's horror, mystery, and the characters' struggle to confront trauma and survive.
