Overview

Chizuru Yukimura is the main heroine of Hakuouki, a young woman who travels to Kyoto in search of her missing father and becomes entangled with the Shinsengumi. Intelligent, courageous, and compassionate, she often acts as a witness to the group’s struggles and a bridge between the human and supernatural elements of the story. Her presence drives much of the plot, as she supports the Shinsengumi while uncovering secrets about her own origins and the dangers surrounding them.
