Overview
Rhedosaurus is the prehistoric reptilian monster at the center of The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms. Awakened from long hibernation by an Arctic atomic test, it becomes a towering force of destruction as it moves south from the frozen north toward civilization. The creature serves as the film’s main antagonist and is the catalyst for the story’s escalating disaster. Its rampage through cities and final confrontation with humanity made it one of the most influential giant monster characters in early science fiction cinema.
