Shinobu Sensui is a major antagonist in Yu Yu Hakusho and the former Spirit Detective before Yusuke Urameshi. Once devoted to protecting humanity from demons, his worldview collapses after witnessing human cruelty, driving him into a radical, violent mission to destroy humanity. Calm, intelligent, and deeply conflicted, Sensui is one of the series’ most complex villains. His actions trigger the Chapter Black arc, where he serves as the central threat and a dark mirror to Yusuke’s role as Spirit Detective.
