Overview
Meru Otonashi is a recurring student character in Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei. She is known for her delicate appearance, refined mannerisms, and an obsessive focus on beauty, fashion, and social status. Often portrayed as vain or overly self-conscious, she adds to the series’ satirical look at school life and human insecurity. As part of the ensemble cast, Meru helps highlight the absurdity and dark comedy of the show’s world through her interactions with classmates and the eccentric teacher Nozomu Itoshiki.
