Overview
Ryuk is a Shinigami, or death god, in the anime and manga series Death Note. He is responsible for dropping the Death Note into the human world, which is subsequently picked up by Light Yagami. Ryuk serves as a neutral observer, finding amusement in the chaos and moral dilemmas that ensue from Light's actions. His love for apples and mischievous personality make him a memorable and unique presence throughout the series, as he influences events from the shadows.
