Overview
Menchi is a small, fluffy dog and a recurring character in the anime series Heppoko Jikuuten Erekuseru Saga (Excel Saga). Often mistaken for food, Menchi is humorously referred to as the 'emergency food supply' by the protagonist, Excel. Despite being a pet, Menchi experiences various misadventures and is frequently the target of the series' slapstick comedy. Menchi's role is both as comic relief and as a satirical commentary on the expendability of side characters in anime.
